The Meadowbank Vineyard + Sheep Farm Experience is many things, but most importantly it is fun.
The day starts at beautiful Russell Falls in Mt Field National Park, before heading to the historic Meadowbank property. On arrival you will join the stockman and sheep dogs for a mustering demonstration, as the mob are prepared for shearing. It is then in to the shearing shed to see a burly shearer ply his trade – and the chance to run your hands through a fine Merino wool fleece.
From the shearing shed it is up to the vineyard and winery for a fun tasting session with Mardi Ellis, who will no doubt join you for a glass. A 3-course long-table lunch rounds out the day at Meadowbank, with Mardi’s husband Alex flame-grilling the local beef fillets to perfection for you… something as a career firefighter he feels he is uniquely positioned to do!
On the way home, a visit to Bonorong Park Zoo to see Tasmanian Devils provides the perfect end to the tour. We cannot confirm whether Tasmanian Devils actually spin or not, so you will have to come along to see for yourselves…
